Josh Davis floors debut opponent in under 10 seconds to stay unbeaten at FAC 36
Amateur heavyweight Josh Davis extended his perfect record to 3-0 at FAC 36 in Independence, Mississippi, knocking out Jacob Tanner with a running right hand in under ten seconds — Tanner's first sanctioned contest.
Amateur heavyweight Josh Davis stopped Jacob Tanner with a devastating running right hand in under ten seconds at FAC 36 in Independence, Mississippi on Friday night, sending Tanner face-first into the cage wall and prompting an immediate stoppage from the referee.
The finish was nearly as fast as Davis’s previous outing — a six-second knockout on his promotional debut for FAC in May — and continues a pattern of extreme brevity across all three of his amateur bouts. His MMA debut for Synergy FC in March lasted just 56 seconds, meaning Davis has yet to see the one-minute mark in any of his fights.
Now 3-0 as an amateur, the 26-year-old Missouri native trains under UFC veteran Trey Ogden at Marathon MMA in Kansas, and the consistency of his finishing ability is already drawing attention at regional level.
For Tanner, it was a brutal introduction to sanctioned competition. According to Tapology and other fighter databases, Friday’s bout was his first recorded contest, and it lasted less time than it takes most fighters to reach the centre of the cage.
