Till dismisses Tommy Fury and pleads with BKFC to seal long-awaited Mike Perry clash

Darren Till wasted no time after beating Yoel Romero at BKFC 94 to move to 2-0 in bare-knuckle fighting, using his post-fight press conference to demand a showdown with Mike Perry and publicly wash his hands of the entire Fury family.

Till and Perry have been circling each other through interviews and social media for the better part of eight years, but the fight has never materialised. Till long resisted a move to bare-knuckle, but back-to-back wins have changed his calculus — and his ambition.

“It’s eight years now in the making me and Mike Perry,” Till said at the BKFC 94 post-fight press conference. “I personally think me and Perry sell a stadium out. I sold that arena out tonight. I fcking respect Yoel more than anything on this Earth. He’s a fcking phenom but that was my arena tonight. If me and Mike Perry [fight], we’ll sell a stadium out.”

Till went further, signalling he is willing to let Perry take top billing and a larger purse if that is what it takes to get the fight made. “If Mike wants to come back here and he wants to be the ‘A’ side and get more money or whatever, my managers hate me now for saying this, but I don’t give a f*ck,” he said. “I want that fight to start next year if David [Feldman] can make that happen and I know he can.”

BKFC president David Feldman has previously stated his desire to book Till vs. Perry, and the prospect now appears closer than ever. Till also confirmed he has recently signed a new contract with BKFC, committing his immediate future to the promotion.

The complication is Perry himself. The American has returned to MMA for his last two outings, and there is no clear indication when — or whether — he will pull the gloves back off for a BKFC return.

Also surfacing on Saturday was the subject of Tommy Fury, who was linked to BKFC after early talks with the promotion were confirmed. Till was unambiguous about his feelings. “I don’t want to answer anymore Tommy Fury questions,” he said. “I don’t give two fcks about Tommy Fury. I don’t give two fcks about John Fury. I don’t give two f*cks about Tyson Fury. Unless I see him standing in the ring across from me.”

The pair were originally scheduled to meet in a boxing match, but Fury withdrew, citing concerns that Till might use MMA techniques. Till has shown little interest in revisiting that rivalry, reserving his energy entirely for the Perry fight he has been chasing for nearly a decade.
