Ireland to host England at Aviva Stadium in 2027 Women's Six Nations return

Ireland will return to the Aviva Stadium for the 2027 Women’s Six Nations, hosting England in a Round 4 fixture at the 51,700-capacity Dublin ground, the IRFU confirmed this week. The announcement also revealed that Ireland’s Round 2 match against France will be staged at Galway’s Dexcom Stadium.

The Aviva hosted Ireland’s first-ever standalone Women’s Six Nations fixture earlier this year, when a record crowd of 31,294 turned out to watch Scott Bemand’s side take on Scotland. That milestone came in the same championship in which England drew 77,120 to Allianz Stadium in West London for their home fixture against Ireland — a marker of the growing scale of the women’s game on both sides of the fixture.

Ireland captain Erin King welcomed both announcements. “Playing at Aviva Stadium last season was an incredible and landmark experience for the group and we’re really excited to be returning to the Home of Irish Rugby in 2027,” she said. “To have that record-breaking crowd behind us and feel the support from the moment we ran out was really special and we want to continue building that connection with our supporters and bring more people, young and old, into our Green Wave.”

On the Galway venue, King added: “We’re also looking forward to bringing international rugby back to Dexcom Stadium, where we enjoyed brilliant support in last season’s Guinness Women’s Six Nations. These are the occasions you want to be involved in as a player and with two big home matches against France and England coming up in 2027, there is huge motivation for us to produce the occasions and performances that will inspire and excite our Green Wave.”

Ireland’s full 2027 Women’s Six Nations schedule begins with a Round 1 trip to Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield to face Scotland, followed by the home fixture against France in Galway. A Round 3 away match against Wales at Cardiff Arms Park precedes the Aviva showdown with England. The venue for their final Round 5 clash with Italy has yet to be confirmed.

Bemand’s side, currently ranked fifth in the world, are in the middle of their Autumn series. They beat Japan 31-24 at Dexcom Stadium last weekend in the WXV Global Series 2026, having previously lost to the USA Women’s Eagles. They face Japan again this weekend in a non-WXV fixture in Cork.
