Hull City new signing Sorba Thomas escaped without injury after his Land Rover Defender flipped onto its roof on Millhouse Wood Lane, a residential street near the club’s Cottingham training ground, on Friday morning.

Images circulated on social media showing the vehicle upside down in the road, prompting the Championship club to issue a statement reassuring supporters about the winger’s condition.

“Hull City is relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road traffic accident near to the club’s Cottingham training ground,” the statement read. “The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”

Thomas only recently joined Hull City, making the incident all the more alarming for supporters who had just welcomed him to the club. The circumstances of the crash have not been disclosed.
