Luis Hernandez will make his official UFC debut just 11 days after signing with the promotion, stepping in on two days’ notice to face Sedriques Dumas at UFC Vegas 121 in Las Vegas this Saturday after Mickey Gall withdrew due to medical issues discovered during fight-week checks.

Gall, who had not competed in nearly two years, said the issue surfaced on his pre-fight medicals but that he was otherwise fine. His withdrawal leaves Hernandez — signed to the UFC earlier this month following a second-round rear-naked choke finish of Hugo Guillon on Dana White’s Contender Series — facing one of the fastest turnarounds in DWCS history.

Hernandez enters the bout with a perfect 8-0 record and the momentum of a finishing performance still fresh. Dumas, by contrast, arrives in desperate need of a result. The 10-5 middleweight has not won since a unanimous decision over Denis Tiuliulin in August 2024 and carries a four-fight winless run into Saturday, a stretch that includes three stoppage defeats.

The late change leaves UFC Vegas 121 with 12 bouts intact. The card is headlined by a bantamweight contest between Raul Rosas Jr. and Raoni Barcelos, while the co-main event features jiu-jitsu specialist Rodolfo Vieira against Robert Bryczek at 185 pounds.
