Harlequins have signed Australian prop Harry Johnson-Holmes from Western Force ahead of the 2026/27 season, the Premiership club confirmed. The 29-year-old brings 91 Super Rugby appearances to The Stoop, along with a Wallabies cap earned against South Africa in Johannesburg in July 2019.

Johnson-Holmes came through the NSW Country Eagles and Sydney University pathways before making his Super Rugby debut for the NSW Waratahs in 2018. He spent seven seasons with the franchise before joining Western Force ahead of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific campaign. Capable of scrummaging on both sides of the front row, he offers Harlequins flexibility and depth at prop.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Harlequins for the upcoming season,” Johnson-Holmes said. “To become part of a club with such a proud history, passionate supporters and a strong identity is something I’m really looking forward to.”

The prop also pointed to his existing relationship with head coach Jason Gilmore as a key factor in the move. “Having worked with Jason before, I have great confidence that Harlequins is the perfect environment for me to continue developing my game. I’ve seen first-hand the impact he has on a playing group, and I can’t wait to work with him again.”

Gilmore welcomed the addition, highlighting the practical value Johnson-Holmes brings to the squad. “Harry is an experienced operator who brings quality and versatility to our front row,” the head coach said. “His ability to play on both sides of the scrum gives us valuable flexibility and depth, and his Super Rugby pedigree will no doubt add to our group.”

The signing follows Harlequins’ recent appointment of Brad Cooper as attack coach. Cooper joins after guiding the Hurricanes to the Super Rugby Pacific title.
