Antoine Griezmann scored a brace Thursday night in Atlanta to hand Orlando City a 3-2 victory against Atlanta United, their fourth consecutive match without defeat in MLS.

The French forward first equalized shortly before the half-hour mark, before Ivan Angulo restored Atlanta’s advantage after the restart. Griezmann then sealed the win early in the final quarter-hour, allowing Orlando to pull clear. Atlanta did reduce the deficit in stoppage time through an own goal, but the result was no longer in doubt.

This fourth goal in as many matches confirms the fine form of the Mâcon native, who has established himself as the offensive engine of the Florida franchise in recent weeks.

In the Eastern Conference standings, Orlando City now has 31 points — nine wins and four draws in 24 matches — and occupies sixth place, which guarantees direct qualification for the playoffs. The margin remains tight, however: Toronto, tenth and the first club outside the playoff places, sits just two points behind with ten matches still to play.

Orlando will host Toronto this weekend, before traveling to Columbus next Wednesday for a US Cup semi-final.
