Grealish seals Everton return as Sarr, Alvarez and Zirkzee deals loom on deadline day

Jack Grealish has agreed to rejoin Everton on loan from Manchester City ahead of Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline, with the 30-year-old winger set to undergo his medical on Tuesday morning before completing a second successive spell at Goodison Park.

The deal, reported by The Athletic’s David Ornstein, sees Grealish return to Merseyside after his first loan stint there last season. City sanctioned the move as the England international continues to search for regular first-team football.

Elsewhere, Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is set to join Como on loan after an agreement was reached between the two clubs. Sanchez lost his starting place at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Emi Martínez and will now link up with Como, managed by former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fàbregas.

Liverpool are pushing to sign Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr, with the Senegalese forward identified as a potential replacement for Cody Gakpo, who appears set to complete a move to Manchester City before the window closes.

Arsenal remain linked with Atlético Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, though reports suggest the Argentina striker is personally keen on a move to Barcelona rather than north London, casting doubt over whether a deal can be concluded in time.

Manchester United are also active on deadline day, with the club exploring the signing of a new left-back to provide competition for the injury-prone Luke Shaw. United could simultaneously sanction the departure of striker Joshua Zirkzee, who has struggled for consistent form since his summer arrival from Bologna.

Clubs in England and Wales have until 11pm on Tuesday to register new signings, though deal sheets can be submitted before the cut-off, granting an additional two hours to finalise paperwork on any late agreements.
