Giovanni Castaldi leaves Ligue 1+ to join new Téléfoot L'After show on L'Équipe channel
After one season as a consultant on Ligue 1+, Giovanni Castaldi returns exclusively to L'Équipe channel. He will join the Téléfoot L'After panel starting September 6, a new show produced by TF1 with Grégoire Margotton and Bixente Lizarazu.
Giovanni Castaldi is leaving Ligue 1+ after just one season. The 36-year-old journalist, a fixture on L’Équipe channel, had joined the platform created by the LFP as a consultant to support its launch. The collaboration is ending, as confirmed by Vincent Broussard, general director of L’Équipe’s television division.
« Last season, we accepted it to help Ligue 1+ with its rapid launch. But Giovanni is exclusive to L’Équipe channel and we have a lot of things to have him do this season, » Broussard explained, notably citing a recurring role as commentator in L’Équipe de Greg.
Castaldi doesn’t remain long without a new project. He joins the panel of Téléfoot, L’After, an original show co-produced by TF1. The program is designed as a spin-off of the historic Téléfoot, built around debate and Ligue 1 and France national team footage.
« We’re also mixing the faces, with Grégoire Margotton presenting, Bixente Lizarazu and Séverine Parlakou, but also personalities from our side like Giovanni Castaldi. There will be five or six of them around the table, » Vincent Broussard specified. The Boulogne-Billancourt native is thus settling into a reinforced Sunday schedule, straddling two media outlets.
