Freed by Monaco after 115 minutes, Pogba chooses between MLS and Saudi Arabia
Mutually released from his AS Monaco contract after just 115 minutes of play across six matches, Paul Pogba is studying offers from MLS and Saudi Pro League, according to Fabrizio Romano. His decision is expected in the coming days.
Paul Pogba and AS Monaco have terminated their contract by mutual agreement on Wednesday, after the 2018 World Cup winner played just 115 minutes across six matches since his return to competition on June 28, 2025. Both parties confirmed the separation in a joint statement, citing “initially set objectives partially achieved”.
The long-awaited return of the midfielder, suspended for eighteen months for doping before joining Monaco, has failed to deliver on its promise. Despite modern facilities and a contract running until June 2027, repeated injuries ended the Monaco adventure before the start of the new official season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions have been held in recent weeks with clubs from Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League. The American option appears particularly serious: Pogba has never hidden his attraction to American culture, and DC United holds the player’s discovery rights. His decision is expected in the coming days.
