Dino Beganovic will leave Formula 2 to become Ferrari’s reserve driver for the 2027 season, the Scuderia confirmed, ending the 22-year-old’s junior career without a race seat after fellow Ferrari Driver Academy protege Rafael Camara secured a drive at Haas.

Beganovic has spent seven years in the Ferrari academy, building a record that includes the Formula Regional European Championship title and back-to-back F2 victories in Madrid and Baku this season with DAMS. The Swedish-Bosnian driver currently sits fifth in the 2026 F2 standings in his sophomore campaign.

Despite winning races at every level of his career, Beganovic was overtaken in Ferrari’s pecking order by the younger Camara. The Brazilian rookie leads the 2026 F2 championship and has already signed a 2027 F1 contract with Haas, where he is expected to partner fellow FDA graduate Oliver Bearman.

Beganovic will join former Alfa Romeo race driver Antonio Giovinazzi in Ferrari’s reserve roster and will take on additional development duties for the team. He has already accumulated experience at Formula 1 level, having participated in four FP1 sessions with the Scuderia across 2025 and 2026.

Ferrari will not be without a junior driver in F2 next year. Tuukka Taponen will graduate from F3 to the feeder series after finishing third in the 2026 championship, a result secured by three podiums across the final two rounds having not reached the top three at any earlier point in the season.
