Everton's CMC Markets shirt deal lifts sponsorship earnings above £20m to fund Hackney and George bids
Everton have signed a multi-year shirt sponsorship with financial services firm CMC Markets, pushing their combined shirt deal earnings above £20m per year — a 30 percent uplift the club has pledged to invest in new signings.
Everton have agreed a multi-year shirt sponsorship deal with financial services firm CMC Markets that, combined with an expanded sleeve arrangement with Stake, will take the Merseyside club’s shirt deal earnings to more than £20m per year ahead of the new Premier League season.
CMC Markets will replace the previous front-of-shirt sponsor and will pay around 30 percent more than Everton’s prior arrangement. The renewed sleeve deal with Stake has also been renegotiated at approximately 30 percent above its previous value, providing a meaningful financial boost to manager David Moyes as he looks to reshape his squad.
Everton have pledged to direct the additional revenue into the transfer market. The club are close to finalising a deal for Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, who was voted the best player in the Championship last season and is understood to be keen on the move — a long-term target of Moyes. Everton are also in talks with Chelsea over winger Tyrique George, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Although that loan contained a £25m purchase option, Everton are attempting to negotiate a lower fee for the England Under-21 international.
The CMC Markets agreement is the latest in a series of commercial partnerships Everton have secured over the past year. The club also struck a naming rights deal with law firm Hill Dickinson for their new £800m stadium, underlining a broader effort to grow commercial revenues as they settle into their new home.
