England fan spends £40,000 house deposit to follow Three Lions through entire World Cup 2026
Jack Goodwin, 34, has used his entire house deposit to fund flights, hotels and tickets to every potential England game at World Cup 2026, including the final in New Jersey on 19 July — a trip he is sharing with his father.
Jack Goodwin, 34, has spent his entire £40,000 house deposit on a trip to follow England through every stage of World Cup 2026, including pre-booked flights, hotels and tickets to the final in New Jersey on 19 July.
“I saved up for a house and I blew my whole house deposit taking me and my dad out here,” Goodwin said, describing the decision to bring his father along for the full campaign under Thomas Tuchel.
Despite acknowledging the trip as “very expensive”, Goodwin said he has no regrets. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he added, framing the sacrifice as one he considers himself fortunate to be able to make.
Goodwin has pre-booked accommodation and match tickets for every potential England fixture, meaning his outlay is committed regardless of how far Tuchel’s squad progresses in the tournament.
