EA Sports unveiled on Monday the ratings for the 27 best players in its upcoming release, EA Sports FC 27, expected worldwide on September 25. Kylian Mbappé, striker for Real Madrid, tops the rankings with an overall rating of 91, tied with Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

Haaland’s presence in the Top 10 did not go unnoticed in England: the Norwegian is the sole Premier League representative in this elite group. The next in the English hierarchy is Arsenal defender Gabriel, twelfth with 89, tied with Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City) and Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United).

Ligue 1 is well represented thanks to PSG, with Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha both credited with 90, ranking fourth and fifth respectively. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (89, 15th), Nuno Mendes (89, 16th) and Willian Pacho (89, 17th) complete the Paris delegation. However, the absence of Désiré Doué from the Top 27 raised questions among several users online. “It’s not bad but I would have put Kane and Dembélé at 91. And where is Doué?” wrote one user on X.

While Mbappé’s first place was hardly contested, it was Lionel Messi’s rating that sparked the most debate. The Argentine, 18th with 89, triggered a wave of mocking reactions on social media, with many users simply posting his name accompanied by laughing emojis.
