The Democratic Republic of Congo begin their qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday against Equatorial Guinea, at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa (80,000 capacity), with kick-off at 18:00 (French time).

The Leopards approach this campaign as favorites in Group E, strengthened by their historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Facing a less-fancied Equatorial Guinea, the Congolese side are expected to deliver a convincing result in this opening match.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be held from 19 June to 17 July in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, three co-host nations for an edition that promises to be unprecedented on the African continent. DR Congo will have two more fixtures in this group before the end of the year: an away trip to Zimbabwe on 28 September, then hosting Sierra Leone on 11 November.
