Désiré Doué has no intention of changing his habits to counter Lamine Yamal. Minutes before kick-off in the PSG-Barcelona match, the third matchday of the Champions League league phase at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, the Paris striker was categorical: “If we’re going to play differently because there’s Lamine Yamal? No! No… We’re going to play as usual. Our objective is to score a lot of goals.”

The message contrasts with the reality of a duel that promises to be tricky for Paris’s left flank. With Nuno Mendes unavailable, it will be Lucas Hernandez who must face the Spanish international, who has been in great form since the start of the season with Barcelona.

Doué, for his part, preferred to focus on PSG’s attacking ambitions rather than defensive precautions. “We need to be up to the task and we will be. We’re going to put a lot of intensity tonight, we want to score a lot,” he added.

Luis Enrique fielded the former Rennes player in his starting eleven, facing him against a Lamine Yamal starting on Barcelona’s right wing. Both players are going through a period of good form with their respective clubs, which promises an exciting wing battle to watch closely in this top-of-the-table encounter.
