Dana White dismisses Eddie Hearn as Fury-Joshua talks circle Madison Square Garden
UFC CEO Dana White has publicly distanced himself from Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua negotiations, taking a pointed swipe at promoter Eddie Hearn after reports emerged that the heavyweight bout could take place on 20 November at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Dana White has made clear he is tuning out Eddie Hearn’s public commentary on the Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua negotiations, delivering a blunt rebuke of the British promoter following Week 2 of Dana White’s Contender Series 2026.
Reports have surfaced suggesting Fury and Joshua have agreed to meet on 20 November at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a development that has drawn White into questions about his own involvement. Asked whether he expected to be part of an announcement regarding the fight next week, White was evasive — but far less so when the subject turned to Hearn.
“I stopped listening to Eddie Hearn about three months ago,” White said. “Is there anybody more full of sh*t than this guy? Come on.”
White was specifically asked about reports that Hearn wants the fight staged in the United Kingdom and had raised the possibility of legal action if Joshua were booked without a contractual agreement in place. The UFC boss declined to engage with the substance of those claims, instead distancing himself from the entire negotiating circus.
“I don’t know. You might want to ask the promoters of the fight,” White said when pressed on the expected announcement. “I’m not going to play these games with these f*cking guys. You know what I mean? Let’s see what happens.”
White’s comments reflect the increasingly fractured promotional landscape surrounding the long-anticipated heavyweight clash. Fury and Joshua have been linked for years, with multiple attempted deals collapsing before reaching a signed contract. The reported 20 November date at Madison Square Garden represents the latest attempt to finally get the fight made, though the involvement of multiple competing promotional interests — including Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing — continues to complicate matters.
Whether White plays a formal role in the eventual announcement remains unclear, but his remarks suggest he has little appetite for the public back-and-forth that has come to define the negotiation process.
