Chicharito jokes hair transplant cured his 'bad persona' in playful comeback video
Javier Hernandez has shared a humorous video documenting his hair transplant recovery, joking that baldness was behind all his past misdemeanours. The former Manchester United striker also confirmed he signed for USL Championship side Atletico Dallas in July 2026.
Javier Hernandez has revealed he underwent a full hair transplant, sharing a light-hearted video in which he blamed years of controversy on his receding hairline rather than his own behaviour. The former Manchester United striker, known as Chicharito, appeared in a nine-second clip with a white strip of tape across his forehead and visibly swollen eyes before cutting to a shot of his restored hairline at a restaurant.
In the tongue-in-cheek video, Hernandez declared that “being bald makes you a bad person” and presented what he called “a completely irresponsible study” to prove that none of his past transgressions were his own fault. “I wasn’t a bad person; I was just bald,” he said, before listing the supposed benefits of his new hair — including improved penalty-taking, a kinder disposition, and an inexplicable knowledge of every Luis Miguel song.
Hernandez also took aim at his own record, joking about being accused of “acting like the all-time top scorer for the Mexican national team” — a title he genuinely holds. “Well, I am! If they’d let me play more, I’d have even more goals,” he quipped.
The 37-year-old had been without a club since leaving Guadalajara at the end of his contract in December 2025. That spell away from the game appears to be over: in July 2026, Hernandez signed for USL Championship side Atletico Dallas, becoming the club’s first-ever signing.
He closed the video with a nod to his partner, Nicole McPherson, noting that she had loved him regardless of his hairline — though he credited the transplant with helping him “find the love of your life” all the same.
Hernandez spent two spells at Manchester United between 2010 and 2015, scoring 59 goals in 157 appearances and winning two Premier League titles.
