Cejudo claims Allen's wife sent 'nasty' message to his wife amid UFC feud
Henry Cejudo says the off-cage dispute with Brendan Allen has spilled into their personal lives, alleging Allen's wife sent an aggressive message to his own wife after a row over fighter pay and national representation.
Henry Cejudo has alleged that his feud with UFC middleweight Brendan Allen crossed a personal line after claiming Allen’s wife sent a “nasty” message to his own wife, escalating a dispute that began over fighter pay and national identity.
Cejudo made the claim on his “Pound 4 Pound” podcast, drawing a firm line around his family. “Brendan Allen’s wife sent a nasty message to my wife,” the former two-division UFC champion said. “Me and him are both American, married to Brazilians, and have American kids… She just went off; I don’t want to repeat it. What I will say is, don’t bring my family into this. Let men be men.”
The feud between the two fighters has been building for some time. Cejudo, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion, had previously taken issue with Allen choosing to represent Brazil in the Octagon despite being American. He also criticised Allen for declining to speak out on UFC fighter pay, a topic that has gained renewed attention following Sean Strickland’s public comments on the subject.
Allen’s reluctance to criticise the promotion came after his victory over Christian Leroy Duncan at UFC Vegas 122, when he was directly asked about fighter compensation in the wake of Strickland’s outburst. His measured response drew a sharp rebuke from Cejudo, who labelled it a failure of solidarity among fighters. Allen, in turn, had previously dismissed Cejudo’s podcast as “trash.”
The dispute now appears to have moved beyond the two fighters themselves, with Cejudo insisting he wants no part of a conflict that involves their families. He stopped short of revealing the contents of the alleged message, but was unambiguous in his demand that the feud remain between him and Allen.
