Walker mocks Pereira's ego and demands flight to settle sparring wager
Valter Walker has fired back at UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, publicly demanding a travel ticket to Las Vegas after Pereira offered to pay Walker's last fight purse if he could submit him in sparring.
Valter Walker has escalated his public feud with UFC two-division champion Alex Pereira, demanding the Brazilian arrange his travel to Las Vegas to make good on a sparring wager — or fly to Russia to face him instead.
The dispute stems from Walker’s prediction that his Gor MMA teammate Sergei Pavlovich will knock out Pereira when the two meet at UFC 335 in Las Vegas on December 12. Pereira responded by challenging Walker to a sparring session, offering to pay him the equivalent of his last fight purse if Walker could submit him.
In an Instagram video filmed alongside his coach Gor Azizyan, Walker made clear he is still waiting on Pereira to follow through. “Poatan, I’m still waiting for that ticket,” Walker said. “Buy it, and I’ll head straight to Las Vegas to get a hold of your foot. If you don’t want me grabbing your foot at the Performance Institute, no problem — I’ll buy you a business-class ticket, and you can come here to Russia instead.”
Walker took the feud further in an interview with Brazilian YouTube channel Sexto Round, where he questioned Pereira’s motivations and delivered a series of pointed personal insults. “He has a very wounded ego,” Walker said. “Everything for him is about money; everything is about buying imported cars. He doesn’t even fit inside the last imported car he bought — he just bought it to show off that he has money.”
The back-and-forth adds an extra layer of tension to the build-up to UFC 335, where Pereira’s heavyweight clash with Pavlovich is set to be a headline bout. Walker’s involvement in the pre-fight narrative — despite not competing on the card himself — underlines the tight-knit loyalty within the Gor MMA camp and their collective confidence heading into December.
