Carmouche shaves head to hit 125 pounds for PFL Chicago flyweight title rematch

Liz Carmouche made the 125-pound championship limit for Friday’s PFL Chicago main event — but only after shaving her head to shed the final grams before stepping on the scale. The 42-year-old former Bellator champion will face Jena Bishop for the vacant PFL women’s flyweight title, with the full card confirmed after all fighters successfully made weight on Thursday.

The two women met for the first time in August 2025 at PFL Charlotte, where Carmouche stopped Bishop by brutal knockout to claim the flyweight tournament. This rematch carries higher stakes: the vacant divisional title. Bishop came in slightly under the championship limit at 124.6 pounds, confirming the bout is officially on.

Carmouche arrives on a four-fight winning streak, finishing three of those opponents. Among her recent victims is former UFC-ranked contender Viviane Araujo, whom she finished in June. The head-shaving moment ahead of weigh-ins underlined just how seriously she is taking the championship opportunity — and how little margin she was willing to leave to chance.

Elsewhere on the main card, featherweight contenders Timur Khizriev (145.4) and Gabriel Braga (145.8) both came in fractionally over the non-title limit, while lightweight Sarvarjon Khamidov (135.8) faces Rafael Do Nascimento (135.4) and welterweight JP Saint Louis (172.8) takes on Oualy Tandia (170).
