Carabao Cup Fourth Round draw set for September 16 after Man United host Brighton
The Carabao Cup Fourth Round draw will take place at around 10:20pm BST on September 16, shortly after Manchester United face Brighton in the final Third Round fixture. Clubs including Bournemouth, Newcastle, and Sunderland have already secured their places in the next round.
The Carabao Cup Fourth Round draw is scheduled for approximately 10:20pm BST on September 16, immediately after Manchester United’s Third Round clash with Brighton concludes at Old Trafford.
The Third Round has been spread across two weeks — September 9 to 17 — to accommodate English clubs competing in European competition. As a result, several sides have already booked their place in the Fourth Round, among them Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Newcastle, and Bradford.
On September 15, five Third Round ties take place, headlined by Liverpool versus Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Arsenal, beaten finalists against Manchester City in last season’s Carabao Cup Final, travel to Ipswich Town, while West Ham welcome Fulham to the London Stadium. Peterborough United host Barnsley, and Reading take on Brentford.
The following evening, September 16, three further matches are scheduled. Everton host Wolves in a rescheduled fixture that was originally set for September 9, Sheffield United travel to Fleetwood, and Coventry City — newly promoted to the top flight — welcome Aston Villa.
The United-Brighton tie at 8pm BST is the last of the round, meaning the draw will follow shortly after full time or, if necessary, a penalty shootout.
Fourth Round fixtures are scheduled for the week commencing October 26, with Fifth Round matches pencilled in for the week commencing December 14.
