Canal Football Club is starting its new season with a major change of scenery: the Sunday evening show presented by Hervé Mathoux is leaving its historic Factory studio to move into a new set located in the hall of Canal+ headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux. This same space will also host Canal Champions Club and Canal Rugby Club.

The premiere of this new season is scheduled for this Sunday at 19:35, with Michel Platini as guest of honour. The three-time Ballon d’Or winner (1983, 1984, 1985) will discuss his latest news and the documentary series dedicated to him, with the final three episodes airing that same Sunday. The former France number 10 will be joined by Laure Bouleau and Bertrand Latour.

This renewal comes at a difficult time for the show. Deprived of Ligue 1 since losing the broadcasting rights to the French championship, it recorded its lowest audience scores last season, sometimes falling to around 100,000 viewers, or approximately 0.5% audience share. Canal+ management nevertheless chose to maintain this Sunday appointment, a historic showcase for its sports service.
