Brahim Diaz breaks silence after Morocco's elimination by France
A week after Morocco's 2-0 defeat to France in the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals, Brahim Diaz posted a message on social media promising a stronger return for his teammates.
A week after Morocco’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, Brahim Diaz broke his silence on social media to react to the 2-0 defeat suffered against France on July 9.
“A few days ago, our journey in this World Cup came to an end. We leave with sadness, but this does not stop here,” wrote the Real Madrid forward. A sober but determined message from a player who failed to score during the tournament, while providing four assists.
The Lions of the Atlas thus finish short of their 2022 Qatar epic, when they reached the semi-finals — a historic first for an African nation. This time, the quarter-final was the end of the road, against a French side that won without breaking a sweat.
Brahim Diaz nevertheless wanted to acknowledge popular support before turning the page: “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the entire Moroccan community for your unconditional support. You were with us at every step and your encouragement meant so much to us.”
The Moroccan number 10 concluded on a note of ambition: “We will return stronger, with more hunger and more enthusiasm to continue fighting for our country. The best is yet to come. The most beautiful has not yet arrived. Dima Maghrib.”
