Jude Bellingham rescued England with a stoppage-time equaliser against Norway in Miami, cancelling out Andreas Schjelderup’s opener in what is a World Cup 2026 qualifier for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The Real Madrid midfielder struck in the second minute of first-half added time, powering through before finishing to level the scores. The goal moved Bellingham further up the Golden Boot standings.

ITV pundit Ian Wright singled out the touch that created the chance. “It’s the touch, the defender is worried about the touch, but that touch there, it’s keeping the ball away to get the shot off,” Wright said. Gary Neville was equally effusive, calling Bellingham “an absolute star” and crediting the build-up play: “This pass from Gordon, you’re in business.”

Roy Keane also praised the finish, though he acknowledged Norway’s defensive shortcomings. “He’s in control of everything — his right foot, finish with his left. I can be critical of Norway’s defenders but it’s a fantastic finish,” Keane said.

England assistant manager Anthony Barry offered a measured assessment of the opening 45 minutes, suggesting the conditions in Miami disrupted England’s rhythm early on. “I feel like the environment and climate impacted the first 25 minutes. I thought we had total control and dominance,” Barry said. “After the water break, we invited Norway into the counter-attacks — they had the Haaland warning chance, then an undeserved wonder shot. I feel like the Bellingham goal released the stadium and our lads.”
