Bellingham's brace and Mbappé's golazo propel Real Madrid to top of Liga
Real Madrid crushed Malaga 4-0 on Sunday in matchday 3 of Liga, thanks to a brace from Jude Bellingham, a stunning goal from Kylian Mbappé and a late strike from Güler.
Real Madrid demolished Malaga 4-0 at Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday in matchday 3 of Liga, provisionally moving to the top of the Spanish championship.
The Merengues settled the matter in less than half an hour. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the 19th minute before doubling his tally seven minutes later. It was then Kylian Mbappé who lit up the Madrid evening in the 30th minute, scoring a golazo that definitively extinguished all Malaga resistance.
In added time, young Arda Güler capped off the collective display by adding a fourth goal, confirming the depth of a Real Madrid squad firing on all cylinders at the start of the season.
With three wins in as many matches, José Mourinho Félix’s Real Madrid takes provisional top spot in Liga. FC Barcelona can nonetheless reclaim first place as early as Monday evening with a victory against Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou.
On the Madrid side, Thibaut Courtois started in goal, protected by a defence comprising Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Antonio Rüdiger and Marc Cucurella. Vinicius Jr and Brahim Diaz animated the attacking midfield alongside Bellingham, while Mbappé operated up front.
