Barthez, Bettoni, Msaidie: Zidane officially announces 23-member staff for France

The French Football Federation officially announced on Tuesday the composition of Zinedine Zidane’s staff at the helm of the France national team, four days before the publication of his first squad list.

As expected, David Bettoni will hold the position of assistant coach, alongside Hamidou Msaidie as assistant coach. Fabien Barthez, 1998 World Cup winner like Zidane, takes charge of goalkeeper training. The staff comprises a total of 23 members, with a liaison officer position with the Interior Ministry still to be filled to support security manager Mohamed Sanhadji.

The setup also relies on a fitness coach (Arthur Hochede), a video data analyst (Farid Tabet), an observer (Stéphane Plancque) and a strategy and performance advisor in the person of Grégory Dupont. The medical department brings together doctor Hervé Collado, four physiotherapists, an osteopath and a podiatrist. Logistics and communications are handled by Laurent Georges (team manager) and Xavier Giraudon (press officer).

Zinedine Zidane will officially begin on the France bench on September 25 in Turkey, as part of the Ligue des Nations. The France team will then travel to Belgium on September 28, before hosting Italy at Stade de France on October 2 and the Red Devils on October 5.
