FC Barcelona swept Racing Santander 7-2 at Camp Nou on Wednesday evening in Matchday 6 of La Liga, completing a perfect start to the season with six wins from six matches and 18 points from 18.
Raphinha was the star of the show with a hat-trick, while Cancelo, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal and an own goal rounded out the Catalan scoring spree. Over six matchdays, Barça have scored 28 goals, a pace that underscores Hansi Flick’s team’s dominance at the start of the championship.
In the standings, the Blaugranas now hold a three-point lead over Real Madrid, who beat Elche 3-2 the night before. Defensive solidity remains an area for improvement, however, with the two goals conceded against Santander a reminder that Barcelona’s backline is not infallible.
Flick fielded Joan Garcia in goal, a four-man defence with Eric Garcia, Christensen, Martin and Cancelo, a midfield of Pedri, Rodri and Olmo, and an attacking trio of Yamal, Raphinha and Adeyemi. Racing Santander, for their part, attempted to resist with a 4-1-3-2 built around Canales and Villalibre, but could not stem the Barcelona tide.
