Bradley Barcola has completed his move to Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123m, with the 23-year-old winger declaring his immediate ambition is to win the Premier League.
The Reds will pay an initial £106m for the French winger, with a further £17m available in add-ons. The fee makes Barcola Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing in the club’s history — edging past Florian Wirtz (£116.5m) and sitting just behind Alexander Isak, who joined from Newcastle for £125m last summer. Barcola will wear the No.29 shirt at Anfield.
“It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,” Barcola said in his first interview with the club. “It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.”
The prolonged nature of the negotiations with PSG was acknowledged by the player himself, but Barcola made clear the wait has done nothing to dampen his enthusiasm. He also pointed to the length of his contract as a sign of his long-term commitment to the project.
“I hope to achieve very big things,” he added. “First of all, winning the Premier League — it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term — that’s why I signed a long contract — and I hope I can do it.”
Barcola arrives at Anfield having established himself as one of Europe’s most dangerous wide forwards during his time at PSG, where he was a key figure in Ligue 1 title-winning campaigns. His pace, directness, and eye for goal made him one of the most coveted attackers on the continent, and Liverpool’s willingness to break their transfer record underlines the level of ambition behind the signing.
