Luis Enrique is now the most successful manager in Paris Saint-Germain’s history. His 127th victory on the PSG bench, secured Saturday at Le Havre (1-5), allows him to surpass Laurent Blanc and Luis Fernandez in the rankings of coaches with the most wins.

The offensive display at Stade Océane was orchestrated by Achraf Hakimi, who scored a hat-trick, and a collective in outstanding form. The Spaniard, who arrived in summer 2023 despite not being Luis Campos’ first choice — the Portuguese sporting director had targeted Mikel Arteta and Julian Nagelsmann — has transformed PSG into a winning machine, crowned with two Ligue des Champions titles in three years and four months of collaboration.

With 127 victories across all competitions, Luis Enrique now leads Laurent Blanc (126) and Luis Fernandez (125). “The President” managed the club from 2013 to 2016, winning three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies and three Coupe de la Ligue crowns. Luis Enrique boasts a comparable record in Ligue 1 and Coupe de France, to which he adds two European titles.

Luis Fernandez remains a unique figure in the club’s history. A star player for PSG for eight seasons — French champion in 1986 — he later managed Paris on two occasions. His first spell, from 1994 to 1996, remains etched in memory: he delivered the club its first European trophy, the Cup Winners’ Cup. His second tenure, from 2000 to 2003, proved more difficult, without major silverware except the 2001 Intertoto Cup, which opened the doors to the UEFA Cup.

By crossing this symbolic milestone, Luis Enrique further cements his place in the legend of a club he was not supposed to join.
