Barcola and Mbaye left out of PSG squad for Rennes clash, Liverpool transfer imminent
Luis Enrique has not called up Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye for PSG's trip to Rennes in the Ligue 1 opener. Both players are in advanced talks to join Liverpool, with Paris demanding €170 million for Barcola.
Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye will not travel to Rennes on Sunday evening (20:45) for the Ligue 1 season opener between PSG and Stade Rennais. Luis Enrique has decided not to include them in his squad, despite both players being present at the club’s training session on Saturday morning.
Their absence is not injury-related. According to RMC Sport, Barcola and Mbaye are both in advanced transfer talks with Liverpool. The chances of seeing them defend PSG’s colours next season now appear minimal. To allow the French international to leave, PSG is demanding €170 million.
During the Trophée des Champions against Racing Club de Lens, Luis Enrique had refused to comment on the matter. “I will talk about the transfer market when the transfer market is finished. Not before, nor after. When it’s finished, I will talk about all subjects,” the Spanish coach had said.
For this trip to Brittany, PSG should field the following lineup: Safonov — Hakimi, Marquinhos (c), Pacho, Digne — Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Ruiz — Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.
