Arsenal weigh Gyokeres swap to land Alvarez as United plan triple summer signings
Arsenal are reportedly considering offering Viktor Gyokeres to Atletico Madrid in a swap deal for Julian Alvarez, while Manchester United are pushing ahead with multiple transfer targets this summer.
Arsenal are exploring an audacious swap deal that would send Viktor Gyokeres to Atletico Madrid in exchange for Argentina international Julian Alvarez, according to reports from talkSPORT. The move would represent a significant reshaping of Mikel Arteta’s attack ahead of the new season.
Gyokeres joined Arsenal last year but endured a mixed debut campaign at the Emirates Stadium, failing to replicate the prolific numbers he posted during his time in Portugal. Despite that, the club appear willing to use him as a bargaining chip to secure Alvarez, who impressed on the international stage as Argentina reached the World Cup final.
Arteta’s side have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old Atletico Madrid striker for some time, and the reported willingness to include Gyokeres in any deal suggests Arsenal are serious about getting the move over the line.
Elsewhere, Manchester United are also active in the market, with reports indicating the club are working on as many as three signings this summer as they look to rebuild under their current setup. Specific targets have not been confirmed, but the club are said to be flexing their financial muscle as the window heats up.
Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola also continues to be linked with a Premier League move, though no club has been formally identified as the frontrunner for his signature.
