A.J. McKee returns to face unbeaten Isbulaev as PFL San Diego card clears weigh-ins
Former Bellator featherweight champion A.J. McKee is set for his second PFL outing of 2026 after all but one fighter made weight for Saturday's PFL San Diego card. Bantamweight Sarvarjon Khamidov came in 1.6 pounds heavy and will face a purse fine.
Former Bellator MMA featherweight champion A.J. McKee will headline PFL San Diego on Saturday night against undefeated Kazakhstani prospect Salamat Isbulaev, with the card officially confirmed after Thursday’s weigh-ins. All nine bouts are on, though bantamweight Sarvarjon Khamidov missed the 135-pound limit by 1.6 pounds and will be fined a percentage of his purse.
McKee (24-2) enters the main event in solid form, having posted back-to-back decision wins over Akhmed Magomedov and Adam Borics following a split-decision loss to Paul Hughes in 2024. The 31-year-old, who goes by “Mercenary”, weighed in at 145.6 pounds and is 3-1 overall inside the PFL.
For Isbulaev (10-0), Saturday represents the biggest night of his career. The 29-year-old is 1-0 in the promotion after knocking out Jesus Pinedo earlier in 2026, and a win over a former world champion would firmly establish him as a featherweight contender. He stepped on the scale at 145.8 pounds.
Elsewhere on the card, former UFC flyweight Liz Carmouche meets Viviane Araujo in a women’s flyweight contest, while lightweight Alfie Davis faces Alexandr Shabliy and light heavyweight Abraham Bably takes on Rob Wilkinson.
