Cortes-Acosta seeks to end two-fight skid as Walker targets back-to-back wins at UFC Vegas 124
All 28 fighters hit the scales ahead of Saturday's UFC Vegas 124 card in Las Vegas. Heavyweight headliners Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker must come in at or under 266 pounds, with top strawweight contenders Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba meeting in the co-main.
All 28 fighters on the UFC Vegas 124 card completed their official weigh-ins Friday morning in Las Vegas, clearing the way for Saturday’s event headlined by a heavyweight clash between Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker.
Cortes-Acosta, ranked No. 8 at heavyweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, enters the bout looking to arrest a two-fight losing streak. Walker, meanwhile, is chasing back-to-back victories since making the move up from the light heavyweight division. Both men must come in at or under the 266-pound non-title heavyweight limit.
The co-main event pits two of the strawweight division’s most dangerous contenders against each other. Tatiana Suarez, ranked third, faces No. 2-ranked Virna Jandiroba in a fight that could have significant title implications, with both women required to make the 116-pound strawweight limit.
The main card also features a bantamweight contest between Davey Grant and Elijah Smith, a heavyweight bout between Billy Elekana and Lucas Fernando, a women’s flyweight matchup pitting Priscila Cachoeira against Nina Milosevic, and a featherweight clash between Mitch Raposo and Marcos Degli.
The preliminary card is equally stacked, headlined by a welterweight contest between Keiichiro Nakamura and Ollie Schmid. Other prelim bouts include Gabriel Lorenco vs. Thomas Petersen, Karine Silva vs. Gabriella Fernandes, Jose Delano vs. Murtazali Magomedov, Austin Bashi vs. Carlos Calderon, Mantas Kondratavicius vs. Andre Petroski, Seokhyon Ko vs. Wellington Turman, and Jonny Parsons vs. Jose Souza.
