Real Madrid officially confirmed the signing of Bernardo Silva on Wednesday and is already targeting its next recruit: Alessandro Bastoni, Inter Milan’s centre-back, whose price is set at around €70 million according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

In the space of two weeks, the Madrid club has significantly strengthened its squad. In addition to Bernardo Silva in midfield, three defenders have already joined the group: Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konaté and Denzel Dumfries. José Mourinho, who had called for the means to rebuild a solid defence, appears to have been heard by president Florentino Pérez.

Bastoni, a pillar of the Nerazzurri under contract until 2028, represents the next piece of the defensive puzzle. Inter Milan would be open to a transfer, and the player himself would not be insensitive to a departure. His value has been weakened by a catastrophic performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff: sent off before half-time against Bosnia and Herzegovina, he had heavily influenced Italy’s elimination on penalties.

His market value is estimated at €65 million, but Inter would demand at least €70 according to the Italian sports newspaper. It is now up to Mourinho to decide on the opportunity to push for this deal, as Real Madrid clearly displays its desire to end two seasons without a major trophy.
