Zlatan cuts off microphone and ejects Speed from Fox Sports set after Ronaldo World Cup prediction
Consultant for Fox Sports at the 2026 World Cup, Zlatan Ibrahimovic reacted sharply when YouTuber Speed predicted a Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo victory: he took the microphone from his hands and sent him off the set.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic took the microphone from YouTuber Speed’s hands and invited him to leave the Fox Sports set between Friday and Saturday night, after the latter had predicted a Portugal victory — and Cristiano Ronaldo’s — at the 2026 World Cup.
The scene occurred during the match between the United States and Paraguay (4-1). Ibrahimovic, consultant for the American channel alongside Thierry Henry, had himself handed the microphone to Speed, 21, known for his boundless admiration for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, by asking him the question: “Who do you see winning the World Cup?” The answer — “Portugal! Ronaldo is going to win the World Cup” — apparently was enough to provoke the radical reaction from the Swede, which Thierry Henry seemed to silently share.
Speed, however, did not give up. As he left the set, he said to the camera: “Watch him win. I promise you he will do it.”
For Cristiano Ronaldo, the 2026 World Cup likely represents the last opportunity to win the only major title still missing from his trophy cabinet. Portugal will begin their campaign on June 17, on the first day of Group K, against the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
