Zidane reveals France squad Friday to face Italy and Turkey
France manager Zinedine Zidane will announce his selection for November's international break on Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m., with several notable absences through injury ahead of two decisive Nations League matches.
Zinedine Zidane will reveal his squad on Friday, November 6 at 6 p.m. for the second gathering of his tenure as France manager, from the headquarters of the French Football Federation. Les Bleus will face Italy on November 12 and then Turkey on November 15 as part of the Nations League.
Zidane will have to manage without several key players. Ousmane Dembélé, Manu Koné, Jules Koundé, William Saliba, Maxence Lacroix and Estéban Lepaul are all ruled out through injury. Maghnes Akliouche was added to this list late in the week, the Paris midfielder suffering a calf injury.
Despite these absences, France approaches this gathering in a position of strength. Unbeaten in four matches since Zidane took charge — three victories and a draw — Les Bleus top Group 1 of League A with 10 points, three points clear of Italy. The emphatic 4-1 victory over Belgium on October 5 confirmed the team’s positive momentum.
The two November matches promise to be decisive: a victory against Italy would allow Les Bleus to consolidate, or even secure, top spot in the group before the end of the league phase.
