Yan edges Dvalishvili in five-round classic as UFC 333 hands out four $100,000 bonuses
Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili shared Fight of the Night honours after a gruelling 25-minute bantamweight title bout in Abu Dhabi, while Alexander Volkanovski and Lone'er Kavanagh also earned $100,000 performance bonuses at UFC 333.
Petr Yan retained his bantamweight title with a narrow five-round decision over Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on 24 October 2026, with both fighters rewarded with $100,000 Fight of the Night bonuses for their efforts.
Yan, known as “No Mercy”, took the final three rounds of a back-and-forth contest to edge out “The Machine” over 25 minutes. The title loss will sting for Dvalishvili, but the six-figure bonus offers some consolation after one of the night’s most compelling performances.
In the main event, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski delivered a statement victory over Movsar Evloev, handing the challenger the first defeat of his professional career. Volkanovski hurt Evloev on the feet in the second round and followed up with a flurry of punches to force a late stoppage, earning himself a performance bonus in the process. The champion hinted post-fight that retirement is not on his horizon.
Flyweight prospect Lone’er Kavanagh rounded out the bonus recipients with a dominant TKO finish of Ramazonbek Temirov in under one round. The win improved the English fighter’s professional record to 11-2 and announced him as a credible contender in the 125-pound division.
