Volkanovski and Yan face the media ahead of UFC 333 title double-header
Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and bantamweight champion Petr Yan joined their respective opponents at the UFC 333 pre-fight press conference on Thursday, two days before their title bouts on Saturday.
Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and bantamweight champion Petr Yan took questions from the media at the UFC 333 press conference on Thursday morning, alongside their Saturday-night opponents Movsar Evloev and Merab Dvalishvili.
Volkanovski defends his featherweight title against Evloev in the main event, with the Australian champion looking to extend one of the division’s most dominant reigns. Evloev enters the contest unbeaten in the UFC, making him one of the more credible challengers Volkanovski has faced in recent years.
In the co-main event, bantamweight champion Petr Yan puts his title on the line against Merab Dvalishvili, a relentless wrestler who has strung together an impressive winning streak to earn his shot. The Georgian contender’s high-volume, pressure-based style sets up a compelling stylistic contrast with Yan’s precise, punishing striking.
The press conference was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, giving both champions and their challengers a final public platform to set the tone before fight night.
