Verstappen faces 100 karters, creators and athletes in Silverstone karting challenge on 16 September
Max Verstappen will start from the back and attempt to pass all 100 opponents in a 30-lap karting event at a purpose-built Silverstone circuit on 16 September. The entry list includes professional athletes, content creators, streamers and fans.
Max Verstappen will take on 100 karters across 30 laps at a purpose-built circuit at Silverstone on Wednesday 16 September in the “Max vs 100” event, with the majority of the entry list now revealed. The four-time Formula 1 world champion will start from the back of the field, tasked with working his way past every opponent before the race ends.
The challenge is designed to favour the opposition: the 100 karters are encouraged to work collectively to keep Verstappen behind them for the duration. The entry list spans professional athletes, drift drivers, content creators, streamers, YouTubers and fans drawn from across the world.
Among those confirmed are professional drift driver Si Hyun Park, motorsport creator and presenter Queen B (Rebecca Evans), automotive photographer Larry Chen, and actor Neo Yau. The bulk of the grid is made up of digital creators and personalities including Zac Alsop, TGFBro (Romell Henry), Josh Richards, Wirtual (Øyvind Ludwig Iversen) and television personality Amber Gill.
Speaking during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, Verstappen was candid about his preparation — or lack of it. “I’ll just rock up and have a good time, to be honest. Let’s see how it goes. But yeah, it’s a lot of people,” he said. “Starting from the back, it’s going to be challenging, but I hope I can catch them all. But we don’t know yet. I don’t even know the format at the moment. So I will just rock up and do my thing.”
The full 100-strong entry list has not yet been disclosed, with the names confirmed so far accounting for roughly 40 of the competitors. The remaining spots are expected to be announced closer to the event date.
