United confirm academy signing from Liverpool as Agbonlahor urges Carrick to raid City for £142m duo

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of teenage winger Isaac Konde from Liverpool, with the 16-year-old joining the Old Trafford academy on a scholar deal while the clubs negotiate a compensation fee.

A club statement confirmed the move: “Manchester United have agreed the signing of winger Isaac Konde. The talented youngster has joined after leaving Liverpool. The 16-year-old had his first taste of Under-18 football at Liverpool, featuring regularly towards the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Konde, a versatile winger capable of playing on either flank, made six appearances for Liverpool’s under-18s last season, registering one assist and earning greater prominence toward the end of the campaign. According to The Athletic, Liverpool are seeking millions in compensation for the teenager, who will be offered professional terms when he turns 17 in October.

The arrival follows a busy period of cross-city recruitment for United. Last week, the club confirmed the signings of central midfielders David Eze and Karim Cassim, both of whom departed Manchester City.

That theme could continue, according to former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who has urged interim manager Michael Carrick to target two City players valued at a combined £142m in the wake of the Premier League’s guilty verdict against their neighbours. City were found guilty on 114 of their 115 charges relating to financial fair play breaches, though no punishment has yet been announced and it remains unclear whether the club will appeal.

Should the sanction prove severe enough to threaten City with relegation, Agbonlahor told talkSPORT that United should move quickly to secure two specific targets from the Etihad — though the source material was truncated before naming them.
