Undefeated Belgian prospect Habirora trains with GSP ahead of PFL Dubai co-main
Patrick Habirora has travelled to Montreal to train alongside MMA legend Georges St-Pierre before his co-main event bout against Omar El Dafrawy at PFL Dubai on November 14 at Coca-Cola Arena.
Patrick Habirora, the undefeated Belgian heavyweight prospect, is preparing for his PFL Dubai co-main event appearance on November 14 by training in Montreal under the guidance of two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre.
Habirora’s time in Canada was documented in the first episode of the Professional Fighters League’s “The Rise of the Belgian Bomber” series, in which the fighter reflected on the lessons he has taken from one of MMA’s most decorated champions.
Focus, discipline and gratitude were the three pillars Habirora said St-Pierre has reinforced during the camp. “Stay focused on the goal,” Habirora said, stressing the importance of blocking out distractions in the lead-up to a major fight.
He also spoke about maintaining perspective on his career. “Don’t forget, be grateful for what you’re living,” Habirora said. “That you still have a kid inside of you who was dreaming about this. You’re living the dream you’ve been dreaming since you were a kid.”
Habirora explained that Montreal holds a particular appeal for him beyond the quality of training partners available. The city’s French-speaking community and its cultural contrasts with Europe make it a comfortable base for the Belgian fighter when he travels for camp.
Habirora will face Omar El Dafrawy in the co-main event at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on November 14, with a heavyweight title fight topping the card.
