Unbeaten Evloev vows to expose Volkanovski ahead of UFC 333 featherweight title shot
Movsar Evloev (20-0) says he has endured his hardest-ever training camp ahead of his UFC featherweight title challenge against Alexander Volkanovski (28-4) at UFC 333 on 24 October in Abu Dhabi, insisting the champion has never faced anyone like him.
Movsar Evloev has declared that Alexander Volkanovski has never faced a challenger of his calibre, as the unbeaten Russian prepares to contest the UFC featherweight title at UFC 333 on 24 October at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Evloev (20-0) meets champion Volkanovski (28-4) in the main event, with the bout representing the first world title opportunity of his career.
“This preparation is different just because I pushed more than ever,” Evloev said in a pre-fight interview. “And we did more of everything to make sure we didn’t miss anything. He hasn’t beaten anyone like me. There’s many things that make me special, like unique. And I’m about to show it Saturday.”
Evloev said the camp was deliberately broader in scope than previous cycles, with increased workloads across all areas of training designed to eliminate any remaining weaknesses before the biggest night of his career.
The 20-0 record has long marked Evloev as one of the division’s premier contenders, a status Volkanovski himself has acknowledged publicly. Yet the path to a title shot was not straightforward — Diego Lopes was granted a rematch against Volkanovski earlier in 2025 before Evloev finally secured his opportunity. The Russian’s relatively low finish rate inside the Octagon has generated debate around the delay, though the UFC has never formally cited it as a factor in the scheduling decisions.
Now that the wait is over, Evloev appears determined to make the moment count. His perfect professional record and the intensity of his stated preparation set up a compelling contrast with Volkanovski, who has defended the featherweight title multiple times and remains one of the sport’s most decorated pound-for-pound fighters.
