Mohamed Amoura will not join Olympique de Marseille. The 25-year-old Algerian striker, who was in the sights of the Phocaean club, is set to sign with OGC Nice on loan with an option to buy, according to information from journalist Nabil Djellit published on his X account.

OM, forced to trim its squad before the summer transfer window closes on September 1st to ease its wage bill and free up budgetary room, thus sees an attacking option slip away. Amoura was also being pursued by other Ligue 1 clubs during this transfer window, Djellit notes.

The Algerian international is expected on the Côte d’Azur this Sunday, with a medical examination scheduled for Monday, according to the same source. Last season in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg, Amoura scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists before the German club was relegated to the second division.

Nice is thus achieving a double offensive reinforcement, having also secured the loan of Elye Wahi in parallel. The Eagles are equipping themselves with a profile capable of bringing pace and cutting edge to their attack for the upcoming season.
