Tottenham close to signing Savinho from Man City in £85m deal as summer rebuild tops £369m
Tottenham have agreed a fee of up to £85m with Manchester City for winger Savinho, with a separate deal for Omar Marmoush also in advanced talks. The two signings would push Spurs' summer spending under Roberto De Zerbi past £369m.
Tottenham are on the verge of signing Manchester City winger Savinho in a deal worth up to £85m, with £75m paid up-front and £10m in potential add-ons, according to The Athletic. The move would represent a record sale for City, surpassing the £81m they received for Julian Alvarez when he joined Atletico Madrid in 2024.
Spurs had previously attempted to sign the 22-year-old Brazilian last summer, when talks broke down over a €50m (£43.3m) valuation. Having maintained their interest, they are now set to finally secure his services.
Savinho joined City from French side Troyes in 2024 but managed only two goals in 53 Premier League appearances. His departure would make him the latest high-profile exit from the Etihad this summer, following Tijjani Reijnders, Rodri, James Trafford, Nathan Ake, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, and former manager Pep Guardiola.
Tottenham are also in advanced talks with City over Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, with the combined cost of both deals expected to reach around £140m — implying a valuation of approximately £55m for the 27-year-old. Marmoush only arrived at City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2024 and has scored 16 goals in 62 appearances.
Should both transfers be completed, they would push Tottenham’s total summer outlay under Roberto De Zerbi to a remarkable £369m. The club have already brought in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke for significant fees, while Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson, and Martin Dubravka have arrived on free transfers.
City manager Enzo Maresca has acknowledged that further business remains to be done before the transfer window closes. “We knew already before the game the things that we need to do. It is not because we lost the game. We are quite clear. For sure, we are going to do something before the transfer window closes,” he said. City have been linked with Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, though Maresca offered little detail: “He is still a Lille player. But any new signing as soon as they arrive, it’s better, because we have the Premier League starting in one week.”
Tottenham open their Premier League season against Brentford on Saturday, while City host Bournemouth on Sunday.
