Sidelined by Zidane, Franck Raviot Finds New Role at French Football Federation's Technical Directorate

Franck Raviot will not be part of Zinedine Zidane’s staff, but he remains within the French Football Federation. According to Ouest-France, the former France goalkeeping coach has joined the Technical Directorate (DTN), where he will be responsible for training young goalkeepers as well as coaches.

At 53 years old, Raviot spent sixteen years serving the national team, a position he obtained in 2010 under Laurent Blanc before continuing under Didier Deschamps through the 2026 World Cup. During this period, he notably worked with Hugo Lloris and Mike Maignan. His departure from the senior team’s staff was inevitable once Zidane, appointed head coach following the World Cup, chose to surround himself exclusively with close associates and fresh faces, excluding several members of the former staff of “DD”.

Fabien Barthez has been appointed to succeed him as the national team’s goalkeeping coach.

For Raviot, this return to the DTN is not his first experience there. He had previously worked there from 2000 at the request of Aimé Jacquet, before joining the France A team’s staff. He is therefore returning to an organization he knows well, with the mission of contributing to the development of the next generation of French goalkeepers.
