Shakira watches France beat Morocco (2-0) alongside Mbappé's father
Colombian singer Shakira, author of the official anthem for the 2026 World Cup, watched France's quarter-final victory over Morocco from a box at Gillette Stadium in Boston, seated next to Wilfrid Mbappé, the father of the French captain.
Shakira attended France’s 2-0 victory over Morocco in the 2026 World Cup quarter-final on Thursday at Gillette Stadium in Boston, seated in a box alongside Wilfrid Mbappé, the father of the French captain. The 49-year-old Colombian singer had clearly chosen her side for the evening.
Shakira’s presence was far from coincidental. Author of “Dai Dai”, the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup, she explained on social media while heading to the stadium the reason for her closeness to the Mbappé family: “Fun fact: did you know that the first player to agree to participate in the ‘Dai Dai’ music video was Mbappé? Kylian, I am eternally grateful to you. Thank you so much.”
Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid forward, responded in his own way by scoring a goal during the match. Antoine Griezmann, now in MLS with Orlando, was also present in the stands to support the Blues.
