ASSE officially announced on Friday the signing of 20-year-old Senegalese goalkeeper Mamour Ndiaye from Norwegian club Sarpsborg. The goalkeeper has committed until 2030 and will serve as backup to Gautier Larsonneur in Ligue 2.
Saint-Etienne officially announced on Friday the signing of goalkeeper Mamour Ndiaye, 20, from Norwegian club Sarpsborg. The Senegalese goalkeeper has committed to the Greens until 2030, who will compete in Ligue 2 next season. He is the club’s third summer signing, following Sohaib Naïr and Jakob Breum.
Ndiaye arrives with a backup profile clearly defined by sporting director Loïc Perrin. “Mamour matches the profile we were looking for to complete our squad: he is a young goalkeeper with room for improvement who has already gained playing time in a top-division championship,” Perrin said in the club’s official statement. Perrin added that he “arrives in this number two role, to push Gautier Larsonneur higher and benefit, at the same time, from his experience to develop on his side”.
The young goalkeeper, winner of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations under-20 with the Senegalese national team, expressed his enthusiasm about joining one of French football’s most emblematic clubs. “ASSE is a historic club that everyone hopes to experience in their career. I can’t wait to take my first steps in Green,” he said. He also highlighted that his French language skills would facilitate his integration.
