George Russell became an unlikely autograph hunter at the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, personally escorting Toto and Susie Wolff’s young son Jack through the paddock to collect signatures on his F1 collectible cards. Mercedes shared the video, which quickly went viral.

Russell set the tone early, announcing “We’re getting Jacky’s cards signed” before steering the youngster toward as many drivers as possible. Cadillac’s Valtteri Bottas was first to approach, though the encounter came to nothing — Wolff didn’t have Bottas’s card to hand.

The pair recovered quickly, securing signatures from Liam Lawson, Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, Alex Albon, Ollie Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and Max Verstappen — eleven drivers in total.

The exchanges produced several light moments. Russell quipped to young Wolff about Norris: “Do you actually want Lando’s or not? Because I wouldn’t want it.” Norris, curious about the cards’ value, asked: “Do you sell them and make money?” When Wolff confirmed that he did, Norris, his McLaren team-mate Piastri, and Russell all burst out laughing. Albon added his own twist, telling the boy: “I’ve put my number, so it’s worth more money.”

Hamilton, who spent twelve seasons at Mercedes before joining Ferrari, was visibly pleased to see the young Wolff. “How are you doing? Give me a hug!” the seven-time champion said.

Fans responded warmly on social media. “George literally being DEDICATED is so sweet,” one TikTok user wrote, while others highlighted Hamilton’s reaction: “Love how Lewis goes in for a hug” and “Lewis is so kind with kids.” Several noted the Russell–Norris dynamic: “Not George looking more excited to get the cards signed” and “George saying he wouldn’t want Lando’s signature. I love their Tom and Jerry relationship.”

The paddock moment came against a competitive backdrop. Ferrari led both practice sessions, with Leclerc and Hamilton finishing first and second in FP1 before Hamilton topped FP2 with Leclerc second.
