Ocon reveals Spider-Man helmet to Tom Holland ahead of Belgian and Hungarian GPs
Haas driver Esteban Ocon has unveiled a custom Spider-Man: Brand New Day-inspired helmet to actor Tom Holland, which he will wear at the Belgian and Hungarian Grands Prix on 17-19 and 24-26 July.
Haas Formula 1 driver Esteban Ocon has presented actor Tom Holland with a custom Spider-Man: Brand New Day-inspired helmet design, which the Frenchman will wear across two consecutive race weekends in Belgium and Hungary this July.
The helmet incorporates elements drawn directly from Holland’s on-screen superhero suit, including the film’s official logo on the rear and an image of Spider-Man himself. “We wanted to do something cool, make it look a bit like your costume,” Ocon told Holland during the reveal.
Ocon, a well-known Marvel enthusiast, confirmed he will produce three versions of the design — one to race in, and one to gift to the 30-year-old British actor. “With the movie’s release, I will wear it for two races. So we will produce three of those, and I will give you one,” he said.
Holland, who has portrayed Spider-Man since 2016, used the occasion to ask Ocon about the experience of sitting on the grid before lights out. “It’s excitement, but you need to be focused exactly when that’s gonna happen. You need to know your subject,” the Haas driver explained.
The meeting comes ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Holland offering a carefully guarded preview of the film. “The movie’s been awesome. I’m super proud of the final result. I think fans are gonna love it. It’s different. It’s unique. And I think it’s really emotional,” he said, adding: “I can’t spoil it. There’s a lot of speculation online, and some of the speculation is getting a little close.”
Ocon’s Spider-Man helmet will make its on-track debut at the Belgian Grand Prix on 17-19 July, followed by the Hungarian Grand Prix on 24-26 July. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for theatrical release on 31 July 2026.
